ACTION ON THE GREEN 2009: Another triumph!

Children and their families from Lurgashall and Northchapel recently enjoyed a day of sporting fun in unbroken sunshine. A legion of adult helpers ensured that the day's sporting events ran smoothly. The stars of the day were Ben Polhill (Sport & Physical Activity Development Officer, Leisure and Wellbeing, Chichester District Council) and Heide Evans (Neighbourhood Youth Worker, West Sussex County Council) who supervised games and provided most of the equipment. Once again, archery was a very popular activity which kept archery experts Mog & Steve Fordham busy all day providing tuition. A great variety of sports and BBQ lunch were all made available, free of charge to the children, thanks to grants from Lurgashall Fete 2009 and Northchapel Parish Council. Starting in a small way in 2006, "Action on the Green" has grown and grown. A big 'thank you' is due to the many volunteers who helped to make this year's event such a success. Next year, the founding organisers will hand the baton over to a new team so that the children of Northchapel and Lurgashall can look forward to more "Action on the Green" in 2010.

Lurgashall Village Hall has a new roof!

The newly completed re-roofing project tops off a sustained programme of refurbishment and re-equipment that has provided Lurgashall with a village Hall of which it can be justifiably proud. It is the ideal venue for public meetings, private parties and recreational activities of all kinds. Brochure downloadable from this site.

Recent History

The Village Hall was totally refurbished in 2005. New Kitchen, new Heating, new Wiring, new Decor, and in 2007 new Tables and new Chairs. Now in 2009 a New Roof.

It now just needs NEW people as well as the traditional people to use it.
